Couple accused of laxative biscuits plot to get rid of protesters

A couple have faced court accused of lacing biscuits offered up to striking workers with laxatives because they were sick of the noise being made near their home.

Ohio residents Bo Cosens, 29, and Rachel Sharrock, 25, allegedly contaminated a number of biscuits and tried to feed them to the picket line.

The protesters were bus drivers, cooks and other staff from a nearby school.

None of them ate the baked goods but the couple were charged with contaminating them.

It is alleged the pair were in a Facebook video which showed them putting laxatives into biscuit batter while complaining about honking from passing cars in support of the striking workers.

The pair faced court on Tuesday and have both been released on bail.

Both have been given electronic tracking devices and are prohibited from using social media, news site Times-Reporter reported.

If convicted they each face a maximum of 11 years’ jail.
