Officers save pair from Sydney house fire

Three police officers entered a burning Sydney home to rescue the two occupants, with all five then having to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Police were called after a large amount of smoke was seen coming from a home in Chipping Norton late on Sunday night. The officers entered the home on Ascot Drive and pulled out a man aged in his 40s and a woman in her 70s.

All five were treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital. The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
