Obama's 'latte salute' sparks fury
It's been dubbed 'latte salute', but US President Barack Obama's decision to salute two Marines while holding a coffee has sparked ire on social media.
In a White House video posted on Instagram, the President is seen stepping out of an aircraft while holding his brew.
The President exited the Marine One craft at the Wall Street landing zone in New York City, while making his way to the United Nations.
As Obama walked past the marines, he casually saluted the pair with the takeaway cup still in the same hand.
But the salute did not go unnoticed, with people quick to take to social media to criticise the President's actions.

The disrespectful Obama can't even put his coffee down when saluting a U.S. Marine. It'll be fascinating to learn how this is Bush's fault.

But in the future, leave the latte on the chopper, or at least transfer the beverage into your left hand & salute properly. #LatteSalute
