Nurse’s shocking ‘zombie hands’ after treating Covid patients

A nurse has shared a picture of her zombie-like hand she snapped following a day's work fighting coronavirus.

Monica Paporello, a health professional from the department of Vera in Santa Fe, Argentina, posted the shocking image on social media after a shift on September 21.

She said she wanted to show what it was like to work the battling the disease on the frontline.

“This is how my hand looks after taking off my gloves...it doesn't matter,” she wrote.

“We will continue, there is a long way to go.”

Social media users were supportive of Ms Paporello and her profession.

“Thanks for your dedication, God bless you,” one woman wrote.

“Next one you upload can be giving publicity to a hand cream,” another woman joked.

Sanitary personnel have always had to use surgical gloves for prevention, however, since the virus, they cannot remove them until the end of their working day meaning a lot more time stuck wearing them.

According to the latest figures from the Johns Hopkins University, Argentina has registered 678,266 cases of Covid and 14,766 related deaths.
