Primary school boy in fatal bridge hanging accident

An 11-year-old boy has been found hanging from a bridge in Campbelltown, a victim of a tragic accident.

Reports in the Daily Telegraph say Brandon McGrady suffered from the developmental disorder Aspergers Syndrome and ADHD.

An interview with his mother revealed the primary school student was "impulsive" in character and had a fascination with putting things around his neck.

"He never gave any thought to consequences," his mother Rachael McGrady told the Daily Telegraph.

Mrs McGrady says his death was not a suicide.

According to reports, Brandon went for a walk with a friend and his pet dog yesterday afternoon and stopped to play at a bridge near Campbelltown North Public School.

Playing innocently for a while, Brandon is said to have let his dog off the lead, then put the lead around his neck.

"He's always had a fascination with putting things around his neck ... once it was a ferret harness, or dressing gown cords."

"He had no understanding that things like that could be fatal," Mrs McGrady told the Daily Telegraph.

She said Brandon, who is one of four children, was the happiest and bubbliest child.
