'Shut up your dogs or we will': Sinister note and poisoned treat found in yard

A Sydney musician is pleading for help after discovering a poison-laced treat in his backyard, following a series of sinister notes threatening his beloved pet dogs.

Andrew De Caires issued a warning to other residents in Sydney’s inner west after receiving a number of menacing letters about his barking dogs, Tex and Astrid.

“Shut your f****** dogs up or we will. Up to you. Sick of hearing it bark all f***** day. Inconsiderate c****,” the handwritten note left at the Stanmore property read.

But Mr De Caires said those notes this week developed into something far more sinister.

“We were having dinner next door and could hear the dogs going absolutely nuts,” Mr De Caires said.

“As I ran outside to sus it out I caught a middle aged skinny lady with her hand reaching over the fence!

“I yelled out to her and she ran off into the back of the units next door.”

Mr De Caires said he notified police and that he and his housemates would now be setting up video surveillance throughout the property.

“It’s disgusting to feel unsafe in your own home, so please help us,” he wrote.

"We don’t believe in barking collars! We take the dogs for a walk everyday to keep them stimulated, but dogs will be dogs, they bark at things!"

He pleaded with Facebook users to come forward with any information about the woman he believes is behind the attempted poisoning.

Yahoo7 News has contacted NSW Police regarding the matter.
