Rock fisher drowns on NSW Central Coast

A rock fisher has drowned after she was swept from rocks on a "notorious" stretch of coastline in NSW.

The 43-year-old was washed into the sea at Snapper Point near the Munmorah State Conservation area at about 5pm on Wednesday.

The woman was recovered by lifeguards who performed CPR on her but she could not be revived, according to Surf Life Saving NSW.

In a statement, SLSNSW said the woman was fully clothed and not wearing a life jacket.
