A woman has allegedly punched a taxi driver and then an off-duty police officer in Sydney.
The 39-year-old allegedly repeatedly hit the female taxi driver in the face at Surrey Hills early on Saturday morning after being accused of stealing two mobile phones from the cab.
The passenger also repeatedly punched an off-duty officer the driver flagged down for help, police say.
After being arrested by multiple officers, the Redfern woman was charged with offences including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assaulting police and resisting arrest.
She was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.
