Pro martial arts fighter boasts of punching man unconscious

A professional martial arts fighter has used social media to boast of punching a man unconscious during a brawl outside a pub on the New South Wales South Coast.

Video of the incident shows it starts with a single punch and a man falls to the ground.

Others soon join in and a woman is pulled away during the violence outside a Nowra pub on Saturday night.

The victim has been treated in hospital for head injuries but his alleged attacker now says he was so drunk he doesn't remember the incident.

Cameron Howes, a professional martial arts fighter, took to social media with an admission after the incident.

“I seen your life boy, I seen you f****** life when I f****** knock you out and them people let you live,” he says to the camera.

“I grabbed your throat and threw a jab, I punched you with my right hand.”

But now, Mr Howes claims he doesn’t remember the fight. He posted the video after a brawl which left Will Dendy in hospital with serious head injuries including a broken eye socket.

"To be honest with you, I was intoxicated, I don't remember too much about it,” he told 7 News on being shown the video.

Mr Howes also claims he was acting in self-defence, and said he doesn’t “have anything to apologise for”.

Investigators say they are shocked by the level of brutality on Saturday night, adding Mr Dendy is lucky he wasn't killed.

Nowra Police Inspector David Cockram said the brawl appears “more serious” than he generally sees.

“We'll be looking to make inquiries and hopefully put people before the courts if that's what we need to do,” Insp Cockram said.

No arrests have been made.
