Man found dead after fleeing scene of road rage attack on own mother
A man who bashed his mother in a brutal road rage attack on the NSW south coast has been found dead.
James Uhr rammed his mother's white hatchback off the road before it collided with a power pole in Wollongong about 8am on Wednesday.
It's understood he then opened the door to her car and delivered a series of blows to her face before fleeing in another stolen car.
Police had put out a call for anyone who recognised the 27-year-old to come forward.
That search came to a sudden end when his body was discovered at the back of a Coalcliff home overnight, north of Wollongong.
Police said the homeowner quickly alerted authorities after finding his body around 7.15pm Wednesday.
His 55-year-old mother was on Wednesday rushed to hospital after repeated punches to the head.
She is said to be in a serious but stable condition.
Police said they are not treating his death as suspicious.
