Woman found dead in Sydney beachside home owned by supermodel, man arrested

A 25-year-old man is being questioned by police after a woman known to him died on Sydney's northern beaches.

The 50-year-old woman's body was found at a house, owned by Australian supermodel Gemma Ward, in Marine Parade, Avalon on Monday morning.

Officers made the grizzly discovery at about 10.45am after responding to reports a woman had been injured.

Ms Ward has expressed her heartbreak over the incident and told News Corp it is "heartbreaking news".

“My heart goes out to the family and all involved in this tragedy.”

The two-bedroom beachside home was sold for $1.6 million in June last year, and is currently being rented.
