Bus driver allegedly over limit during crash which injured three

A Sydney bus driver was allegedly over the limit when he ploughed his vehicle into two homes in the city's northwest, injuring three people.

The bus was travelling on Epping Road, North Ryde about midday on Saturday when it left the road, mounted the kerb and smashed through a front yard before crashing into two homes, NSW Police say.

The 61-year-old bus driver, who was not injured in the smash, allegedly tested positive, a NSW Police spokeswoman said on Sunday. He has since undergone mandatory blood and urine tests at Royal North Shore hospital.

Two women in one of the houses suffered minor injuries and were taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for observation while a man in another house also suffered minor injuries but didn't need treatment.

There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the crash.
