Gallantry is alive and well for one kind-hearted Sydney bus driver, who stopped his 381 Bondi bus to help an elderly lady cross the road.
The unnamed driver was photographed by a passerby parking his bus momentarily to help the lady, who was using a walking frame, make her way over a pedestrian crossing on Bondi Road.
"What a legend! He parked the bus and helped this adorable little lady over the crossing! More of you please!", the passerby who took the photo wrote on Facebook.
When the picture was posted to social media the bus driver was roundly applauded for his thoughtfulness.

"People like this need to know how appreciated they are and I reckon the average bus driver wouldn't get much," one Facebook user wrote, suggesting the driver deserved a pay rise.
One person wasn't as congratulatory, however - a passenger on the bus, who grumbled that the driver's helpful gesture had made him late for work.
