Police concerned after woman seen dragged screaming into car

Police are concerned after a woman was seen being forcibly dragged screaming into a car in Burwood on Tuesday night.

Witnesses reported seeing the woman being forced into a car by two men on Burleigh Street near the intersection of Belmore Street.

Officers have been told the woman was struggling to get free and screaming for help.

Witnesses told the Burwood Police Station what had happened but the car and the woman were gone.

Despite no missing person report made in the area police have concerns for her welfare.

The woman is described as being 30-35 years of age, of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, 172-175cm tall, with a large build, brown hair tied in a bun, and was wearing black tracksuit pants, blue shoes, and a black zip-up leather jacket over a black jumper with writing on the left breast.

Police have released images of a man who can assist with the investigation.

He is described as being about 25-30 years of age, of Indian/Sub-Continental appearance, 170-176cm tall, clean-shaven, with a thin build.

At the time he was wearing a black jumper, khaki-coloured pants and a black beanie.

Police have been told the vehicle was a dark silver or grey coloured four-door hatchback, with a rounded shape.
