One of Australia’s most wanted fugitives found hiding under child's bed
One of Australia’s most wanted fugitives has been found hiding under a child's bed, northwest of Sydney.
Police forced their way into a Glossodia home at 10pm on Sunday night where they found wanted man Jayde Schackow hiding under a child's bed.
The 29-year-old was one of 19 fugitives targeted in a state-wide manhunt named Operaton ROAM: Fugitive Hunt.
He was arrested and taken to Windsor Police Station.
He was also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm relating to a domestic violence incident which occurred at Marayong in July 2016.
In August last year, Schackow and 18 other criminals made headlines around the country when their faces were released to the public for crimes including "rape, serious assault and robbery".
"This campaign is targeting those wanted for serious crimes, which could include rape, serious assault and robbery," Crime Stoppers Australia Chairman Bryan Roach said at the time.
"These fugitives are hiding in our communities and they're perhaps known to family members, to colleagues and we're asking people with information about these fugitives to come forward."
Schackow will re-appear before Blacktown Local Court on Monday.
