Woman caught with toddler in backseat after high speed chase
A Cabramatta woman told a magistrate she was "full of anxiety" when she led police on a high speed chase through south west Sydney on Thursday night.
When officers finally caught her, they discovered something more shocking - a toddler in the back seat.
Security cameras caught the fast and furious chase through south-west Sydney.
23-year-old Sally Arabi was behind the wheel, with her boyfriend in the passenger seat and a three-year-old boy in the back seat.
Today, she apologised in court, and walked free on bail.
Her boyfriend was also there to support her.
The chase started at 10.30pm last night on Chadderton Street in Cabramatta when police noticed Ms Arabi run two red lights.
She didn't pull over, instead speeding onto the Hume Highway, reaching speeds of 150kms an hour through Rookwood Road at Yagoona.
The pursuit then went through Birrong, finally ending after eight erratic minutes.
When the police finally caught up with her she was holding the young child in her arms and saying goodbye before being taken away.
Ms Arabi will face court again next month, and the real possibility of jail time.
The toddler in the car was not hurt and is in the care of relatives.
