'He didn't deserve this': Friends and family farewell teen executed in his bed

Friends and family have gathered at a vigil to farewell a fifteen-year-old boy who was executed in his bed.

Brayden Dillon was asleep, when his shooter kicked in the door to his family's south-west Sydney home at 6am on Friday and shot him in the head.

Days later, his loved ones are still trying to come to terms with what happened as they gathered on the banks of the Georges River last night, letting off balloons and laying flowers in his memory.

“It’s so hard to accept the fact that he’s gone, he’s gone forever,” one heartbroken friend told 7 News.

It's alleged the intruder burst into Brayden Dillon's room about 6am.

"He was doing so well and he didn’t deserve this,” another said.

Meanwhile, the search for his killer continues on Sunday.

Police say the teen was deliberately targeted and his friends claimed he had been living in fear for months.
