A man has been arrested at Sydney Airport and is set to be charged with murder over a gangland shooting death at a southwest Sydney panel beater last year.
The 34-year-old brother of killed gangland figure Wally Ahmad was picked up by NSW homicide squad detectives on Monday night after arriving on an international flight.
Mahmoud "Brownie" Ahmad was wearing an Adidas tracksuit and kept his face shielded from the media pack with a cap and a hood after touching down on a flight from Doha.
He was taken to Mascot police station and expected to be charged with an outstanding warrant for murder.
The man has been arrested in relation to the murder of Safwan Charbaji, 32, who was fatally wounded outside a Condell Park smash repair business in April 2016.
That death was linked to the murder of gangland kingpin and convicted killer Walid Ahmad, 40, who was killed in a spray of bullets on the rooftop car park of Bankstown Central shopping centre weeks later.
