Alleged arsonist arrested as NSW homes put at risk

A NSW man has been arrested and charged with deliberately lighting a bushfire, which caused the evacuation of homes and businesses on Tuesday.

Multiple water bombing planes were called in to battle the fire in Kurri Kurri, in the state’s Hunter Valley region, which burned close to where a suspicious blaze broke out last Thursday.

Luckily no one was injured in the out-of-control fire which took hold as conditions climbed to 40C.
