Man fined for exposing himself in newspaper photo

A 22-year-old Albury man has been fined for offensive behaviour after a local newspaper published a photo of a footy celebration in which the man can be seen flashing a testicle.

But that may not be the end of the drama for the Albury Tigers after video emerged of them running riot in a hospital during their end of season party.

Fairfax's Border Mail published a story on its back page about the local Australian Rules team the Albury Tigers on Tuesday, accompanied with a group photo of the team, which soon caught the attention of sharp-eyed readers.

The photo has since been removed from the newspaper's website but not before it found its way onto social media.

The image accompanied a story about the retirement of Albury Tigers Aussie rules coach Daniel Maher but it seemed one of the revelers could not help but to have some fun at the photographer's expense.

The caption read, "There was no wiping the smiles off the faces of the Tigers on Monday afternoon”.

Online, the story focused on the team's latest Ovens and Murray premiership flag. The article remains on the Border Mail's website but no longer features a photograph.

Following a police investigation, the 22-year-old was issued on Tuesday with a Criminal Infringement Notice for behaving in an offensive manner in a public place.

He is not the only Tiger in trouble though.

The Border Mail has now published a video of 'lewd' behaviour in a hospital as the team celebrated its success.

The clip shows one player passing out in what appears to be a creche. The clip also shows a player appearing to urinate in the premiership trophy while in the waiting room of the Albury Base Hospital.

Player Braydon O'Hara was filmed in a Snapchat video under the caption 'winners p**s'.

Ovens and Murray Football Netball League Sean Barrett told the paper O'Hara had tarnished the team's victory.

"The conduct of the player featured in the video footage is disrespectful to the entire competition, the league, the Albury Base Hospital and the wider community," he said.

"So much work goes into winning a premiership and the unacceptable behaviour of the players in the days following the victory has tarnished their success.”

The Border Mail said O'Hara would not confirm or deny his actions.

“I’m not speaking about it, why are you calling me?” the paper quoted him saying.

“I’ll let the footy club explain that.”

It is not clear why three footballers were in the hospital on the early hours of Monday morning, however, a spokesperson told Fairfax no damage had been caused and no staff had been harassed.
