Missing Victorian woman reappears at country hospital in NSW

A Victorian woman who vanished from New South Wales’ Jenolan Caves has mysteriously re-appeared at a country hospital about 250 kilometres away.

Jacoba Tromp's emergence at the Yass Hospital comes after a car belonging to the Victorian and her husband Mark was found back in their home state, while their whereabouts remained a mystery.

Mark and Jacoba Tromp, both aged in their 50s, were last seen by their three adult children leaving the Jenolan Caves in NSW in their grey Peugeot station wagon on Tuesday afternoon.

The couple’s car was spotted on Wednesday night hundreds of kilometres away - back across the Victorian border in Wangaratta.

A man and his girlfriend were driving in the area about 10pm when they noticed a Peugeot following them.

The male driver stopped near Merriwa Park, abandoned the station wagon and ran into the park, Victoria Police say.

A search failed to find him.

Mr and Mrs Tromp left their home in Silvan, east of Melbourne, on Monday to travel to NSW with their children.

Personal possessions including bank cards and mobile phones were left behind, NSW Police have said.

The Tromps were separated from their children and reported missing to Goulburn police on Tuesday afternoon.
