Baby found submerged, unconscious in bath in Sydney home

An eight-month old baby has been rushed to hospital in western Sydney after being found unconscious in a bath.

Emergency workers were called to a home in the Sydney suburb of North St Marys just after 10am on Friday.

A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said the child was submerged "for a period of time".

A neighbour said the family were 'nice people' and the incident had shocked the community.
