Truck smashes car carrying mother and daughter at notorious western Sydney intersection

Three people were seriously injured when a truck slammed into a Lexus after failing to stop at a notorious intersection in Sydney's west caught on CCTV.

The truck came through intersection in Wentworthville and cleaned up a black Lexus carrying a mother and her teenage daughter shortly after 9am Saturday.

Car and truck careered into a nearby front yard, the Lexus crumpled and twisted in the loud bang heard by neighbours who rushed to help.

One nurse was among them, telling 7 News the victims in the crash were frantic.

"It was really scary and the poor woman was screaming and the poor guy was screaming and I didn't know who to help first," the unnamed nurse said.

The truck driver managed to free himself before paramedics arrived minutes later, sedating the mother immediately.

All four people involved were injured in the crash was so serious that a Care Flight helicopter was on standby in the skies above, but in the end three ambulances transported them to Westmead Hospital.

The truck driver was not seriously injured and returned a negative result for alcohol. So far no charges have been laid.

Locals said it was the fourth crash at the spot in two years and they want Holroyd Council to put in speed bumps or a roundabout.
