Fears missing mum was seeking AVO before disappearing

An Illawarra mother who has gone missing along with her nine-year-old daughter was reportedly due to appear in court the day before they went missing.

Tiffany Figueira, 28, and her daughter, Abbey Parsons, were reported missing by a family member when they failed to return to their Primbee home, south of Wollongong, on Tuesday.

The pair were last seen on Sunday leaving their home and contacted friends on Tuesday, police said.

Ms Figueira was due to appear in Albion Park Court on Monday as part of an application for an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) against another person, the ABC reports.

Police inquiries indicate that the pair were last seen Sunday 1 November leaving their home.

Police say the disappearance of daughter Abbey, who last contacted friends on Tuesday, is out of character.

She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a fair complexion, brain hair, about 140cm tall and of thin build.

Tiffany is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a fair complexion, about 165cm tall, of medium build and with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about the pair's whereabouts should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
