Naked mud man face plants at Splendour In The Grass

While most people got a bit down and dirty at the incredibly muddy Splendour In The Grass festival over the weekend, one man took things to the next level.

The naked man dubbed the ‘mud monster’ entertained a cheering crowd with his wild antics at the three-day music festival at Byron Bay on the NSW north coast.

He was filmed cautiously walking up a mud-covered hill before diving naked into a shallow puddle of thick sludge.

But it’s what happened next, which left festival goers and now online viewers in hysterics.

After standing back up to a cheering audience, the mud man tried to run up the hill again, before face planting into the muck and rolling back down the slippery slope.

He then lay defeated in the mud for several seconds, before making another hilarious failed attempt to make it up the hill.

Even though the man left the crowd gawking, he was far from the only person to embrace the mud over the weekend.

While many music lovers accidentally slipped in the mud, there were plenty who intentionally splashed, slid and even dragged their friends through the sludgy mess.

Then there was this guy, who pretended to swim through a mud covered mosh pit, and ended up completely covered in sludge.

This isn't the first time that the antics of festival goers have gone viral.
