The father of 22-year-old convicted killer Daniel Kelsall says his son might not have murdered Morgan Huxley if doctors had done more to help him.

Mark Kelsall claims his son was let down by a number of doctors who had diagnosed Daniel with a list of dangerous conditions.

“For a person to have stuck his hand up so many times to say ‘I need help,’ and to end up where we all are is appalling.”

Kelsall allegedly told medical professionals, before Huxley’s murder, that he fantasised about violently stabbing another person, reports Fairfax media.

Huxley was stabbed 28 times by Kelsall, who had followed him back to his apartment.

Kelsall’s dad insists that the shocking crime could have been prevented.

“If he’d got that help before it might never have happened,” he said.

Since Kelsall’s conviction, reports have emerged of similar encounters with two other men.

One man told police Kelsall followed him home, only fleeing when the man confronted him at the door.

Another man alleges Kelsall jumped out at him from behind bushes, while he was smoking outside an apartment block.

Huxley also managed to tell friends that a strange man had followed him into his apartment.

Police have described Kelsall as a potential serial killer and he is currently serving a minimum of 30 years in prison.
