Australian man killed fighting for ISIS

A man who left Sydney to fight for the Islamic State has died.

Syria 24 reports that Ahmad Mohamad al-Ghaz'zaoui, from Bankstown in west Sydney, was killed by the Syrian Army three days ago.


Friends, family and school friends of Mr al-Ghaz'zaoui, who was originally from Lebanon, have confirmed the news according Jamal Daoud, from the Social Justice Network, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

There have been unconfirmed reports at least three other Australian IS fighters have been killed in the Middle East since mid October.

They include the western Sydney actor turned IS recruiter Mohammad Ali Baryalei, who had been accused of masterminding a plot to kill random members of the public in Sydney and Brisbane, and had recruited dozens of Australians to fight with extremist groups in Iraq and Syria.

Melbourne woman Zehra Duman has also become the the latest Australian to sneak overseas and into the arms of an Islamic State fighter, reportedly marrying a former playboy turned ISIS extremist.
