Man charged after climbing Opera House

A Swedish man is due to front court after allegedly climbing onto the sails of the Sydney Opera House this morning.

Police officers were called to the famous Sydney landmark by security staff at about 1:40am, following reports a man had scaled the building.

The 20-year-old Swedish National was taken to the Rocks Police Station where he was charged with Trespass on Opera House.

The man has been granted conditional bail and has been ordered to face Downing Centre Local Court next month.
