Police have arrested a man over the alleged bashing of a 22-year-old woman, who was left with broken teeth after trying to prevent an attack on her friend.
The 22-year-old man was arrested this morning at his South Windsor home and is currently being interviewed at Windsor police station.
'Maddie' told Seven News last night that she wants to remain anonymous in fear of further retribution. She said she is still struggling to recover from her injuries after she was headbutted at a Windsor pub three months ago.
Her friend was involved in an altercation and when she tried to intervene, she was allegedly assaulted.
She says she was hit so hard that she still endures painful headaches, along with the broken teeth, swelling and bruising.
Just weeks after the single punch that killed 18-year-old Sydney teenager Thomas Kelly in Kings Cross, the nursing student considers herself extremely lucky with the injuries sustained.
She says she went to help a male friend who was being bashed by a group of men during a night out, when they turned on her.
"All I was thinking is, he's on the ground, alone, getting kicked."
Naddie said she felt as if her case had been forgotten and still wanted the perpetrators to be held accountable.
"People think that it's ok just to get away with things, that if they've had a scummy life, then they can put it on to someone else, and make their life just as bad as theirs."
The man is expected to be charged this afternoon.
