A woman has allegedly been caught driving while more than four times over the blood alcohol limit with a child in the car in the NSW Hunter region.
The 34-year-old woman allegedly returned a positive result during a roadside breath test in Maitland about midday on Thursday before recording a reading of 0.227 at the police station.
A seven-year-old boy was found in the rear passenger seat of the car, NSW Police said in a statement. He was cared for by police until a family member arrived.
The woman's licence was suspended and she's been charged with driving with a high range prescribed concentration of alcohol.
She is due to appear at Maitland Local Court on September 25.
