Woman finds her partner's body pinned under ATV

A woman has made a heartbreaking discovery after her partner failed to return from feeding livestock on a property in the NSW Central West region.

NSW police reported the woman became concerned and went searching for the 57-year-old man about 9pm on Saturday.

The man had been travelling around the Hoopers Road property in Forbes on an all-terrain vehicle.

Shortly after she began the search, the woman found him trapped under his ATV.

Emergency services were called to the rural property, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Quadwatch, an Australian Government initiative to raise the safety standards of ATV and quad bikes, there have been more than 128 quad bike-related deaths in Australia since 2011.

Of those, 78 occurred on a farm or rural property.

NSW police could not confirm how long the man had been trapped under the vehicle and are investigating the cause of death.

Officers from Central West Police District will prepare a report for the information of the coroner.
