A woman has been charged with cultivating cannabis plants after police allegedly discovered a hydroponics set-up on the NSW mid-north coast.

The 25-year-old woman was charged on New Year's Eve after police dismantled the alleged cannabis-growing operation and seized 225 cannabis plants at a home in Elands on December 18.

Police say a number of people were arrested at the scene and are currently before the courts.

Investigations led police to the 25-year-old, who was arrested at North Gosford about 11.20pm on December 31.

The woman has been refused bail to appear before Taree Local Court on February 2 to face drugs and weapons charges.
