A 17-year-old boy has died in hospital after being struck by a van in Sydney's west earlier this week.
The teenager was walking on the footpath on Hume Highway at Casula on Thursday afternoon when the van left the road and hit him.
The boy was thrown through the air, suffering critical head injuries, and was taken to Liverpool Hospital.
He died in hospital about 2am on Saturday, police said.
The driver, a 37-year-old man, was charged over the crash on Thursday and remains before the courts.
Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
