A NSW priest has been charged with sexually touching two women.

In July, police began investigating reports the women - aged 22 and 45 - had been sexually touched on multiple occasions by a man known to them.

A 33-year-old man was arrested in Mays Hill in western Sydney on September 1 and charged with seven counts of aggravated sexually touching of another person.

Police will allege in court the offences occurred at a home in Bankstown and a church at Mangrove on the central coast between August 2019 and February 2020.

The priest was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Thursday.
