NSW police officers charged with perjury

A NSW police officer faces perjury charges and an ex-policeman has been charged with fabricating evidence, perjury and assault.

An acting sergeant has been charged with perjury and making false statements under oath in 2009.

He will remain on duty in the Northern Region while the case against him proceeds, NSW police said on Tuesday.

A second officer, who is no longer in the service, has been charged with fabricating evidence, perjury, assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The men will appear at Armidale Local Court on February 3.
