NSW officer arrested over misconduct

A male prison officer has been arrested over alleged misconduct in western Sydney.

The 29-year-old Corrective Services NSW officer was on Friday morning arrested at Silverwater prison following an investigation into reports of corrupt activity, NSW Police said in a statement.

Detectives also seized a mobile phone from a car at the prison before seizing two more phones from a house in Auburn.

The 29-year-old has been taken to Auburn Police Station where he is expected to be charged.
