NSW MP before Sydney corruption inquiry

A veteran NSW Liberal MP has been recorded discussing commission rates on a multi-million dollar property deal with a former Sydney councillor.

The telephone conversation between Daryl Maguire, the member for Wagga Wagga since 1999, and then Canterbury City councillor Michael Hawatt, was played at an Independent Commission Against Corruption inquiry on Friday.

"1.5 per cent isn't enough divided by two if you know what I mean. Three per cent is much better," Mr Maguire was heard saying in the May 2016 recording.
