A man accused of attempting to murder an elderly woman and her son in southern Queensland has faced court.
The victims, aged 82 and 50, stumbled into the street at about 9am on Friday and flagged down motorists for help after being stabbed in the neck at their Hervey Bay home.
The pair made their plea for help as their alleged attacker took off in a white ute, only to be arrested a short time later.
The 39-year-old from Lismore in NSW, who is known to the pair, has been charged with their attempted murder.
He was remanded in custody after a brief hearing at the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Saturday and is due to appear again on Monday.
