A man has been charged with sexually assaulting and robbing a teenage girl at a park in Sydney's southwest.
Police say the 14-year-old girl was at a park on Cooper Road in Yagoona on Sunday afternoon when she was sexually assaulted by a man who stole her handbag and phone before fleeing.
The girl alerted a member of the public, police were contacted and the girl was taken to Westmead Hospital.
Police arrested an 18-year-old man while searching a Yagoona home on Monday afternoon.
He was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault, two counts of sexual touching child under 16, aggravated robbery and goods in custody.
He was refused bail and will face Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday.
