The 64-year-old Marks Point man was arrested on Monday at Swansea and charged with 26 offences.

NSW Police will allege in court the man sexually abused seven children - who were known to him - in the Lake Macquarie and Narrabri areas between 1993 and 2020.

The charges include indecent assault of a victim under 10, indecent assault of a person under 16, sexual intercourse with a person under 10 and aggravated indecent assault of a victim under 16.

He appeared in Belmont Local Court on Monday and was formally refused bail to appear in the same court on February 16.
