A man has been charged with grooming and sexually abusing an underage girl southwest of Sydney.
NSW Police were told in August a 14-year-old girl had been sexually abused by a man she met online.
A man, 22, was arrested on Thursday in the Macarthur region and officers seized a mobile phone and clothing for examination.
He's facing multiple charges including using a carriage service to groom someone under 16 for sex, two counts of sexual intercourse with a child and using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material.
Police will allege in court the man groomed the girl before meeting her in June and July when he sexually abused her.
The man was refused bail to appear before Picton Local Court on Friday.
