A Sydney police officer has been charged with perverting the course of justice after allegedly lying in court.
The unidentified sergeant allegedly supplied false information to a court in 2019, in a matter unrelated to his duties.
The 53-year-old man from the Central Metropolitan Region was served a court attendance notice for two counts of perverting the course of justice on Tuesday.
He will appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on May 21.
NSW Police launched an investigation after it received a complaint, and is now reviewing the man's employment.
