NSW beaches evacuated after surfers paddle next to 2.5m great white shark


Three beaches on the NSW South Coast have been evacuated after a number of shark sightings.

SharkSmart, a site and app run by the department of fisheries, tweeted three separate sightings of great white sharks on Sunday afternoon.

A three-metre shark was spotted at Bhewerre, Shoalhaven about 12.44pm.

At nearby Cudmirrah, a 2.5m great white was spotted around the same time.

Two surfers were snapped paddling near a 2.5m great white at Berrara about 12.47pm.

All three beaches were evacuated and closed.
