'Not impressed': Pauline Hanson's swipe at climate activist

Pauline Hanson is the latest to take aim at eco activist Greta Thunberg over her impassioned speech about climate change.

During her appearance on Sky News on Wednesday night, the One Nation leader was asked her thoughts on the Swedish teenager who gave an emotional speech at the United Nations climate summit on Monday, staring down world leaders with unflinching eye contact as she urged them to take action on climate change.

“I’m not impressed,” Ms Hanson told Chris Kenny.

Ms Hanson went on to suggest those around Greta were filling her head with their agenda.

“She’s voicing what other people have put into her head,” she said.

Ms Hanson then took aim at 16-year-old Greta.

“She’s a teenager who has had no life experiences,” Ms Hanson said.

The politician claimed that Greta was just one of thousands of children being fed incorrect information on climate change, increasing their anxiety.

“It’s not a balanced view. This is why children are faced with anxiety, panic attacks – they feel the world is coming to an end,” she said.

Ms Hanson then placed the blame on Greta’s parents.

“I blame the adults around her for allowing this to happen to our children,” she said.

Pauline Hanson hasn’t been the only Australia public figure to make claims about Greta being a ‘puppet’, with Karl Stefanovic lashing out on 2GB, claiming the teenager was “managed” by activists.

“Look if that was my kid she wouldn’t be in that situation’,” he said.
