North Circular crash: Man arrested on suspicion of drug driving as passenger seriously injured
Police have arrested a man on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after a crash on the North Circular early on Monday left a passenger with serious injuries.
Officers investigating the crash at the North Circular at 3.21am close to the Crooked Billet Interchange said both the driver and a passenger were injured in the collision.
When emergency services and paramedics arrived at the scene, they found two men trapped inside the vehicle.
Both were taken to hospital, where the driver’s injuries were deemed non-life threatening. He was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs and dangerous driving
He remains in custody for questioning, said a Met Police spokesperson.
The passenger remains in hospital with life changing injuries.
