Youtuber NikkieTutorials robbed at gunpoint in own home

Confirming the incident on social media Nikkie revealed the couple are “okay” but would be taking some time for themselves.

“Earlier today one of my biggest nightmares became reality when we got robbed under gunpoint at our own home,” Nikkie wrote.

“Dylan and myself got attacked but physically we are okay. Mentally it’s a whole other story.

“I’m writing this message for now to let you know that we are ‘okay’ and safe.

“Thank you for understanding as I take the next couple of days to myself.”

Nikkie and Dylan live in the suburb of Uden in the Netherlands.

According to local police there are at least three suspects who fled the scene. Police also said one person suffered “superficial” injuries, but did not specify who.

“The perpetrators threatened the residents with possibly a firearm and took an unknown loot from them,” the police said on Twitter.

The terrifying incident comes after Nikkie came out as transgender earlier this year, revealing a blackmail plot aimed to 'destroy her life'.

“When I was younger, I was born in the wrong body,” Nikkie revealed in a video posted to her 25 million followers on Instagram in January.

Nikkie explained she felt forced into coming out as a result of people blackmailing her and threatening to out her to the press.

“I always wanted to come out with it but it is such a delicate thing that, how do you find the timing? There’s never the perfect timing,” she said in interview with Ellen DeGeneres.

“I am thankful that it happened now and now I get to be free.”
