NFL player props: Aaron Jones won't desert you in Arizona

It's a dangerous thing for a gunslinger to be caught in the West without their favorite weapon, but that's the situation that Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers find themselves in tonight as they visit the Arizona Cardinals. Last year's receiving touchdown leader Davante Adams will miss this game, along with fellow receiver Allen Lazard and defensive coordinator Joe Barry, who tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, the line has ballooned up to Packers +6.5 after opening at +3.5. Here are the two player props from BetMGM that I'll be playing tonight:

A.J. Green longest reception over 20.5 yards

It wasn't easy being Green in 2020. The seven-time Pro Bowler had a forgettable year with the Cincinnati Bengals, catching a career-low 45.2% of targets. Like many people who move to the desert near their retirement age, the fresh air has rejuvenated Green, who's pulling in a career-high 68.6% of the balls thrown his way in Arizona. He's lining up opposite DeAndre Hopkins in two-wide receiver sets and rarely leaves the field. The Cardinals have been deploying the 6-foot-4 receiver as a deep threat which has led to Green hitting this prop in six of his seven games this year.

Aaron Jones over 59.5 rushing yards

Who's going to fill the offensive void left by Davante Adams? Equanimeous St. Brown? Marquez Valdes-Scantling? Here's an idea: maybe we attack the team giving up the second-most yards per carry (5.0) that just lost J.J. Watt for the season with our extremely talented bulldozer of a running back. Jones has eclipsed this mark in four of seven games and is PFF's sixth-highest graded running back this season.
