NFL player prop of the day: CeeDee Lamb is poised to become a star for Cowboys

If you've had any fantasy football drafts, you understand the hype surrounding Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb.

Lamb's stock keeps going higher and higher. He's being drafted ahead of some established stars in anticipation of a breakout after a strong rookie season.

It's hard to slow down the hype train when it gets going. While big things are projected for Lamb, he's capable of surpassing them.

CeeDee Lamb could have a huge season

Lamb's receiving yardage total at BetMGM is 1,050.5. That's ahead of veterans like Mike Evans, Tyler Lockett and Robert Woods. Lamb's receiving touchdown total is 6.5.

There are only two real concerns when it comes to either total, and one is universal: injury. Lamb isn't a huge receiver at 198 pounds, but he played in all 16 games last season. He had no durability concerns at Oklahoma. Anyone can get hurt playing football, but there's not an elevated risk for Lamb.

The other issue with Lamb is sharing targets. The Cowboys have Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup at receiver. Blake Jarwin is back and a solid tight end. Ezekiel Elliott is in great shape and ready for a big workload. Lamb will not be a target hog. He might not even lead the team in targets with Cooper around. It's a lot easier to hit an over if you can count on 140 targets. Lamb won't get that. However, he won't get double-teamed too often either.

But there aren't many other reasons to worry. The talent is undeniable. Lamb put up a 74-935-5 line as a rookie and that was with backup quarterbacks for most of the season after Dak Prescott's injury. There's no question Lamb, a first-round pick last year, belonged.

Prescott is back (we think), which helps. The Cowboys should be better on defense and won't have to pass as much as they did early last season, but they'll still pass enough. Lamb will get plenty of targets in a fantastic offense, and he will have a good season.

The over is the way to go on both props for Lamb. They're unlikely to be so low before next season.
