NFL bets: David Johnson's first touchdown of the NFL season paid $3,500 to one bettor

One bettor was quite happy Demarcus Robinson couldn’t hang on in the end zone.

Early in the first quarter, Robinson seemed to have caught a touchdown from Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. After a long review, the play was reversed because the ball hit the ground. It was incomplete and the Chiefs ended up punting.

That kept alive a $500 bet that ended up paying off $3,500.

First touchdown props are popular, and one bettor put $500 on Houston Texans running back David Johnson to score the first touchdown. Johnson, acquired in the infamous DeAndre Hopkins trade, was 7-to-1 to score the first touchdown in the first game of the NFL season.

Johnson scored on a pretty 19-yard run late in the first quarter to give the Texans the lead, and give one bettor at MGM a nice payout less than a quarter into the NFL season.

There’s probably some bettor that took Robinson to score the first touchdown of the game and is complaining about a bad beat, but that’s a different story.
