Woman 'strangles husband with her buttocks' during fight

A woman, 45, is facing a murder charge after allegedly strangling her husband with her buttocks when she reportedly sat on his neck during a fight.

Tatyana O, who weighs more than 100 kilograms, allegedly refused to let go until her partner Aidar “begged forgiveness”.

The man’s daughter said she saw her dad pinned face down on the bed and ran to seek help from neighbours in the Russian city Novokuznetsk, according to evidence in the case.

A female neighbour came to the home but decided it was a domestic dispute the couple would solve, it was reported.

Soon afterwards, the wife screamed, prompting the neighbour to rush back and call for help.

Paramedics pronounced the common-law husband dead at the scene.

A medical examination found he had died from “asphyxia from blocking the respiratory system” as his face was wedged into the mattress, with the woman allegedly sitting on his neck, "using her legs so he could not lift it”.

The wife allegedly “strangled husband to death with her buttocks after drinking too much alcohol”, reported Life.

At her trial, an initial murder charge was dropped and Tatyana was convicted of causing death by negligence, it was reported.

Tatyana said she wanted to “calm him down” after the pair had been drinking.

She had no intention to kill her husband, the court heard.

She was sentenced to 18 months of corrective labour and ordered to pay around £2,000 (AUD$3,609) in “moral damages”, reported Life.

However, this week an Investigative Committee announced it is pressing for a new murder charge against the wife.

The woman had been angry “after drinking heavily” and “as soon as the man lay down on the bed, burying his face in the mattress, she sat on his neck, while holding his head with her legs so that he could not lift it", the committee alleges.

After he stopped showing signs of life, “the accused, frightened, shook him and shouted at him to wake him up”.

The murder suspect “weighs more than 100 kilograms”, the committee said.
